CAPE TOWN
Cybersecurity recruitment in Cape Town
Cape Town is our head office and our home market. We know the security teams here, the people who move between them, and which candidates will genuinely take an on-site role in the CBD.
The Cape Town security market
Cape Town's security hiring demand comes from three directions. The financial services and insurance employers along the Foreshore and in Century City run mature security functions with real budget. The fintech and SaaS cluster hires smaller, broader security teams where one engineer covers cloud, application security and compliance. And the offshore delivery centres — security operations run from Cape Town for parents in the UK, Netherlands and United States — hire in volume when they win a contract.
That third group is why Cape Town has a deeper pool of shift-based SOC analysts than the rest of South Africa, and why analysts here often have exposure to European clients and tooling from early in their careers.
What we place here
- Security operations. L1 through L3 analysts, shift leads and SOC managers, including 24/7 rotations for offshore delivery operations.
- Cloud and platform security. Security engineers with AWS or Azure depth, working alongside platform and DevOps teams.
- Application security. AppSec engineers and penetration testers for the local product and SaaS employers.
- Governance and compliance. GRC specialists covering POPIA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and client security assurance.
- Leadership. Heads of security and CISO mandates, usually confidential.
Why local matters for on-site roles
Cape Town has a specific problem that remote-only agencies miss: candidates accept hybrid roles and then discover the commute from the northern suburbs or the southern peninsula does not work three days a week. We ask about it up front, because a placement that unravels in month two costs you more than the search did.
We also know the teams. When a candidate tells us why they are leaving, we usually have context on the team they are leaving and can tell you whether the reason is about them or about the employer.
Common questions
Are you actually based in Cape Town?
Yes. Cape Town is our head office and home market, not a landing page. Our founder is here and most of our client meetings happen in person.
Which Cape Town sectors do you recruit for most?
Financial services and insurance, fintech and SaaS, and the offshore delivery and shared-services operations that run security functions for overseas parents.
Can you fill hybrid and on-site Cape Town roles?
Yes, and this is where being local matters. We know which candidates will genuinely commute to the CBD, Century City or Stellenbosch, and which will accept and then renegotiate for remote.
Do you place contract as well as permanent staff?
Both. Contract and day-rate work is common for incident response surge, cloud migration programmes and covering a gap while a permanent search runs.
